We are currently looking for candidates for ESL teaching positions in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Experience is not required as we offer our own training course.
We generally have positions to start in March and in September.
The candidate will have to buy a return ticket to Sao Paulo and be available to stay from 3 to 6 months.

We offer reasonable salary paid monthly. Accommodation: we offer subsidized,
descent private accommodation inside the school (safe and respectable neighborhood).
The room is furnished with a single bed, writing desk, cable TV and Internet.
The room has its own toilet with shower. Pictures will be provided during the online interview.
We can also study the possibility of hiring two (female) teachers willing to come and share
the same room (we have an extra bed). We prefer candidates with standard British accent.

Teach In Brazil Now

We’re looking for ESL instructors to teach adults in Manaus, capital of Amazonas state in Brazil.

The school specializes in teaching English language to adults. Most of our classes are one on one at the school or on the premises of multinational companies. These companies are located in different parts of the city and teachers commute by public transport to different parts of the city every day for classes. Cost of transportation is paid by the school. A few of our classes have 3 to 5 students though.

Teachers usually have about 4 hours of classes spread throughout the day. There is no fixed daily schedule. Teachers should be comfortable with students at all levels, ages and sexes.

Our hourly wage is 20 Brazilian Reals(about 12.00 US Dollars). We pay biweekly. We guarantee minimum 20 hours per week (about 1,000 USD / month).

Accommodation:
We offer subsidized, descent private air-conditioned accommodation in a safe and respectable neighborhood.
The rooms are furnished with a bed, writing desk, cable T.V and internet. Teachers pay 200 Reals (about 120 USD) monthly as rent (the school in effect pays 50% of the rent). Electricity, cable T.V and internet bills are paid by teachers.
Rooms are private but teachers share kitchen, toilets and bathrooms with colleagues from other English speaking countries.

Teaching Opportunity in Brazil

Centro de Cultura Americana Ltda. – Speaking (http://www.speaking.com.br/) a language school located in Itajubá, Minas Gerais state in Brazil (http://www.itajuba.mg.gov.br/ ) is looking for a young, enthusiastic and energetic professional, with ESL (or similar) certificate who is willing to work hard (one year contract). The foreign English teacher is responsible for all advanced classes and advanced private students. The school will be using Touchstone 4 (Cambridge Press) for Advanced I classes and Contemporary Topics 3 (Longman Press) for Advanced II. In case there are more advanced students handouts or Communicating in Business (Cambridge Press) will be used. There are few private students who will be talking prep course for TOEFL iBT.

The students are young and demanding, however they do not attend classes regularly. There are a lot of Language Schools in town, but Speaking is the only one to hire foreign teachers and teach most conversation. The competition is hard and for 2008 we need a strong team.

The school teaches English, Spanish, French, German and Chinese. Right now there are 5 foreign and 7 Brazilian teachers working with 250+ students.

The student’s age range from 12 to 40. (most of them are university students)

The position available is to teach 30 hours (or more if you wish) per week from Monday to Friday.

Most classes are in the evening, from 6pm to 10:30pm. Each class lasts one hour and has an average of 8 students.

The wage is R$13,00 (thirteen Reais) per hour for teaching group and private classes. (US$ 1 = R$ 1.78).

The teacher will be paid by the end of every month.

A furnished studio (plus utilities and internet) will be provided for the time of the contract. The teacher would only be responsible for telephone bills. The school housekeeper will clean the studio once a week. There is an one-week break in April and October and a 3-week break in July. There are few long weekends due to Brazilian holidays ( I will provide the calendar later).
