Christmas Camp Work In Mexico

Sueños Compartidos is seeking camp leaders for Christmas Camp in Mexico!! Two locations – southern Oaxaca and southern Veracruz – six teachers in each location will teach English, sports, dance to students in grades 1-6. Dates are Saturday, December 19, 2009 – Friday, January 8, 2010 (one week of training and two weeks of camp). Training will occur in the town of Cholula (state of Puebla, near Mexico City). Teaching in exchange for family homestay (room and board with local family) – no work visa needed!

Requirements are: 21+ years old, basic-level Spanish, minimum 2 years of university education – no teaching certificate required.

CID Center (Carmen International Development Center) is a start-up private school on la isla de Carmen in Campeche, MÈxico. CID is a small (65 students) language and culture center that provides classroom instruction to two different types of learners:

1) Children ranging in age from 5-15 years and
2) Adults whose English language skills are at a variety of levels.

CID Center is seeking one full-time English teacher.
All applicants must speak English with native or native-like fluency

Educational Requirements:
Applicant must speak English with a native or native-like fluency
*Minimum of one year elementary classroom teaching experience Or evidence of successful completion of a student teaching experience at an accredited university.
*Elementary/primary teaching credentials/ qualifications.
*EFL/ESL teaching certificate

Additional:
*Sensitivity to cultural differences (ability to adapt to a way of life requiring understanding and flexibility).
*Genuine commitment to students, the profession and to student-centered learning.

Job Description and Responsibilities
*Teaching English to adult participants and students K-8 (5-6 classes/day)
*Preparation of lesson plans and activities that are project oriented and based on the needs of the students. Creativity, flexibility, commitment, and ability to adapt to an experiential.
*Active participation in all school events and extra curricular activities.
*Participation in the development of the school-wide program and Faculty/ staff training and activities as appropriate to this assignment.
*Previous international experience preferred.
*Speaking French and/or other languages are a plus.

Terms of Employment
*Salary: $23 – 25,000 MX pesos per month
*Date of Employment: As soon as possible.
*Transportation to Ciudad de Carmen is offered for those coming from USA, Canada or other parts of Mexico.
*Working VISA sponsorship is offered.
*Health care plan provided.
*Paid holidays (4 weeks /year plus, national holidays).

Volunteer Teaching Opportunity In El Salvador

The Perkin Educational Opportunities Foundation (PEOF) is a non-profit U.S. public charity 501(c)(3) founded with the goal of community enrichment through education in Central America, originating in the Perquín, Morazán, El Salvador. The first project of the foundation is the Amún Shéa School in Perquín which opened its doors to students in February 2008. As the school develops, it will evolve into an integrated community center offering adult education courses, job training and foreign language classes.
