Located next to the beautiful Sarapiquí River, the SCLC depends on it long-term volunteers to run its day-to-day programs. The volunteers must be highly skilled, willing to work full-time, and responsible for coordinating their program. Volunteers mostly work independently on their programs but also receive support from the administration and other volunteers. Because they primarily work with the local community, all volunteers should have an intermediate level of Spanish. All volunteers with a minimum commitment of six months will be provided with free room and board with a local homestay family, plus a bicycle and Internet access.

Located on the beautiful Sarapiqui River, the Sarapiqui Conservation Learning Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to linking the community with conservation. We are currently looking for an ESL Coordinator to join us mid-June through mid-December.
This position involves teaching English to adults and teens at the Center and possibly teaching English at local elementary schools. Preferred applicants have an ESL certificate and speak Spanish. The coordinator receives a monthly stipend for room and board.

My Little Red House Bilingual School is currently looking for volunteer teachers to teach English as well as to learn or practice Spanish. Room and board will be provided along with the chance to make some money giving private classes to either students at the school or to adults in the city. You will also have ample time to get to know the city of Ocotepeque and to get involved in the community if you so wish. On weekends and other school vacations you can also explore outlaying areas, travel to historical Copan Ruins or the beautiful Bay Islands.
The type of person we are looking for must know English very well and he or she doesn‚t have to be native speaker. The person also has to love working with children as the school has students from pre-school to grade six, Be patient and have great creativity and imagination. Of course, living in another country for some time also means that the foreigners who decide to come here have to be open to other cultures.
