The Universidad Tecnologica de la Mixteca (UTM) needs qualified teachers looking for an opportunity to build a teaching career in rural Mexico. UTM is located in Huajuapan de Leon, a city of about 80,000 people in the northwest corner of the state of Oaxaca, in southern Mexico. Huajuapan is in a valley of a mountainous area at an elevation of about 5000 feet. It is a center for commerce for the surrounding countryside. It is between Mexico City, six hours (by bus) to the northwest, and Oaxaca City, three hours to the southeast. This is an exciting opportunity to live in an undiscovered corner of Mexico.
This is a full-time position and professors are required to be on campus 8 hours a day. Each professor teaches 3 fifty-minutes classes that meet 5 days a week. English is a required subject for our students who are studying various engineering majors. The majority of our students do not have previous experience with English, so the bulk of our teaching is at the Elementary and
Pre-Intermediate levels.
Salary is approximately 10,000 to 12,000 pesos per month after taxes depending on qualifications. Those who stay a full year receive two annual bonuses of a month’s salary each. All teachers are registered in Mexico’s social security system, which includes basic health care, a pension fund, child care, and a housing plan. There are five weeks paid vacation a year, along with various national holidays.
Successful applicants will have a B.A. + CELTA/TEFL Certification or a M.A. in a relevant field and at least a year classroom teaching experience, preferably overseas with young adult students. Spanish ability, experience in English for Specific Purposes, TOEFL or the UCLES exams, is a plus.

We are seeking a part-time, contract, experienced ESL trainer to provide individual lessons to one of our clients. Our client would like to begin lessons as soon as possible.
This position is ideal for teachers who are passionate about language and sharing that passion with their students. We offer the opportunity to bring your individual teaching style in unique teaching environment:
- We do not impose a curriculum on you. We give you as a language professional the ability to judge “on the ground” how to adapt instruction to a student’s individual needs and interests. You won’t be alone though, because we do have resources on staff to help you out.
- Very flexible scheduling. You coordinate the lesson schedule directly with the client, but we encourage lessons 2-3 times per week for a minimum of one hour per lesson.
- We reimburse travel expenses as well as expenses for books/materials you provide to the student.
- Rate of 25 USD per hour of instruction.
- Opportunities for more work in the future depending on availability.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual high-quality ESL language instruction to our client.
- Regularly report hours of instruction along with lesson overview. Submit accurate expense reports and receipts for materials provided to student.

ITESM, Campus Laguna is looking for teachers for the fall semester, 2008 to teach Physics and Chemistry in English in the bicultural high school classes.
This TEC campus is located in Torreon, Coahuila Mexico in the north-central part of the country. Torreon is a medium-sized city with just over a million inhabitants and offers all the comforts to be found in any city of this size.
The campus itself, is fully-equipped with appropriate technology and continually offers in-service courses to assist teachers to effectively use this technology in the classroom as well as developing other skills related to the teaching profession.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemistry or Physics. They should be a native-speaker of English. Due to the nature of the classes we are also looking for someone who has
some research-related experience.

Colegio Aleman is seeking full time English teachers for Primary school to start immediately. Students in elementary school receive classes in Spelling and Vocabulary, Social Studies, Science, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Writing and Math, which are all taught in English. Students learn half the day in Spanish and half the day in English.
All teachers contracts run from approximately August 13 to June 30. Working hours for teachers are from 7:45 am – 2:30 pm Monday to Friday. Teachers are responsible for two hours of tutoring after class each week, and to help out at special events, that can sometimes occur outside of regular school hours (ex. Christmas Festival). Recess yard duty is also the responsibility of the teachers, on a rotating basis with the Spanish Department. This occurs every other week. We have two weeks of holidays at Christmas and Easter, plus several other Mexican holidays throughout the year.
Colegio Aleman offers its foreign teachers the following: monthly salary of $9,039.68 Mexican pesos (after taxes) (subject to change. This was the figure for 2005-2006 school year), accommodations/ housing and utilities, medical benefits, health care for Mexico only, $827 travel stipend (paid in US dollars at the end of the school year, June 2005), and a completion bonus ($3,000 for the full school year), ($1,172 Incentive bonus – arriving to school on time and not being absent) all to be paid in US dollars, at the end of your contract in June 2005. Teacher’s monthly base salary, as mentioned earlier is $9,039.68 Mexican pesos, after the deduction of taxes. This will be divided in half and paid every 15 days.
The ideal teacher should be energetic, innovative, articulate, flexible, committed, conscientious, adaptable, organized, honest, professional, caring, patient and competent. Interested teachers should work well with fellow colleagues and administration but also be capable of working diligently and effectively on their own. Colegio Aleman will consider applicants who are not certified teachers however we do strongly recommend that you have your teacher certification or relevant experience in the teaching profession.
