Assistance is provided to obtain your first year VISA and second year VISAS are paid for by the company.

You will have groups with 1 to 4 students. At times, companies contract closed groups only for the themselves and they choose to include up to 8 in a group. Under these circumstances, companies are aware that progress will be slower than with our recommended 4 students per group. Student age is between 18 to 60 years old averaging 30. You will be provided with material packets that should last you about 1 month per group. You will be trained during the first weeks and asked to observe other classes. Training is not paid. Teachers are expected to teach between 6 to 8 groups at a given time. Inter Act offers on-going training to those teachers with less experience or for those who wish to improve their teaching skills. Each group meets 3 times per week for sessions of 1.5 hrs. Groups are usually programmed on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule or a Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday schedule. Pay is at 80 to 100 MXP per hour (depending on experience and results) and so for one session of 1.5 hrs, you will be paid 120 to 150 MXP. Payday is on the 5th and the 25th day of each month in local currency. You will be observed and feedback given to you when you have your meeting with your coordinator. 80% of our teaching staff is foreigners and the others are native Mexicans who have lived abroad for many years.

All teachers hired at Inter-Act must agree and accept the possible hours of 7 to 10 am and 6:30 to 9:30 pm from Monday to Friday and Saturday morning classes when needed.

Although this is general information, living in Mexico is quite a unique experience. As when travelling to any country, open-mindedness is always a plus in being able to adapt quicker and enjoy your time and work in Mexico. You will find that Mexico is rich in culture, offers excellent weather year-round and full of friendly people. You can also ask for references from teachers currently working at Inter Act. Some of these teachers are now permanent residents of Mexico while others are here on a one-year contract.

This position is ideal for teachers who are passionate about language and sharing that passion with their students. We offer the opportunity to bring your individual teaching style in unique teaching environment:

- We do not impose a curriculum on you. We give you as a language professional the ability to judge “on the ground” how to adapt instruction to a student’s individual needs and interests. You won’t be alone though, because we do have resources on staff to help you out.

- Very flexible scheduling. You coordinate the lesson schedule directly with the client, but we encourage lessons 2-3 times per week for a minimum of one hour per lesson.

- We reimburse travel expenses as well as expenses for books/materials you provide to the student.

- Rate of 25 USD per hour of instruction.

Responsibilities

- Provide individual high-quality ESL language instruction to our client.

- Regularly report hours of instruction along with lesson overview. Submit accurate expense reports and receipts for materials provided to student.

- Evaluate and report student progress regularly.

Requirements

- At least 2 years successful ESL teaching/training experience.

- University degree

We are looking for 10 volunteer teachers for our fourth annual summer camp. We prefer teachers between the ages of 24 – 38 years old. The camp is an outreach to our community to encourage children to learn English and have fun doing it!
We divide into stations that each teacher is responsible for and the campers rotate throughout the 2 weeks.

Teachers prepare 10 days of lesson plans during the mornings of the first week and a short parent presentation for the last day of camp. To say a BIG thank you we provide room and board with a family home stay for 3 weeks. The Spanish immersion program is every afternoon for the first week. This is not a classroom based program rather it is a fun and dynamic one on one tutorials based in the community. This is an awesome opportunity to jump start your Spanish learning or practice improving what you already know. We hope to hear from you soon.
