The American School Foundation of Chiapas A.C. is a growing bilingual school, striving to provide an excellent education to our 560 students. We are interested in filling Kindergarten and Elementary teaching positions with a one-year contract for the 2008/2009 school year.
We offer a rich educational program, structured upon well established curriculum guidelines from the American School System, as well as from those stated by the Mexican Ministry of Education as well as those from California, USA. We ensure a safe and thoughtful environment in which students are encouraged to grow as independent, respectful, and responsible learners. We value the ideologies of Guided Learning and teaching through Multiple Intelligences. At ASFC, we promote a cooperative and friendly work environment.
The school is situated in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the capital city of the beautiful state of Chiapas. Tuxtla is a small, yet bustling city, alive with the vivid colours and energy of México. Not far from the city are mountains, canyons, beaches, pyramids and the ocean, just waiting to be explored. Tuxtla Gutiérrez offers delightful sunny weather all year round, delicious culinary flavours, and a culture rich in history and tradition. Requirements: We hire qualified teachers with English as their native language who hold Education degrees in Elementary or Early Childhood Education. They should be certified, creative, enthusiastic, experienced, flexible, qualified, thoughtful teachers who are native English speakers. We prefer that our teachers have at least one year experience. Intercultural and universal values are required for our teachers’ best performance and understanding, with the idea of avoiding any cultural shock.
