AL GHAD SCHOOLS
SCHOOLS OF THE FUTURE
MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
United Arab Emirates
Opportunity of a lifetime for teachers and educational leaders
Openings for January and August 2008
Are you an experienced teacher or educational leader who is committed to high educational standards? Are you innovative, flexible, adventurous, technologically savvy, a team player/leader and desirous of contributing to the development of a national school reform program? If you are, then you may be among the employees we are seeking to make successful the ambitious project undertaken by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.
Recent decisions by the leadership of the United Arab Emirates have made development of a world-class public education system a top priority for the country. In August 2007, the first stages of implementation of the new system, the “Al Ghad Schools” program, began in a cohort of fifty schools with others to be added in subsequent years. A new curriculum in English was introduced in Grades 6, 10, 11 and 12 with Mathematics and Science to follow in subsequent years. The Grade 1 schools integrate the teaching of English with Mathematics and Science taught in English. A second part of the Al Ghad Schools program focuses on Arabic language instruction with a new grade 1 curriculum introduced this year. Graduates of the Al Ghad Schools program will be fully bilingual, knowledgeable about their rich culture and heritage, educated in an active learning environment, skilled in the use of information technology, soundly grounded in Mathematics and Science and prepared for higher education, successful careers, healthy lives and parenthood, all within a global context.
The Al Ghad Schools program offers excellent opportunities to be a part of a multi-national team engaged in national school reform, to enhance credentials and to acquire new skills through an extensive professional development program. The primary language of instruction for the first phase of the Al Ghad Schools program is English; candidates with teaching credentials and strong language skills in both Arabic and English (IELTS 6.0 or above or TOEFL equivalent) are highly sought, especially for the Primary Schools.

I was employed by Al-Madaras al-Ghad. I strongly disdain anyone from applying. Team work is virtually non-existent.
I received great evaluations from my LC, principal and principal advisor. Nonetheless, I along with dozens others, received our letters of termination for poor evaluations and reviews.
God help you should you attempt to appeal the termination. By all standards I have a case. Yet it seems to be virtually impossible to have anyone take even one look at you to help.
Many of those still surviving in these appalling conditions are contemplating resignation or desertion!!!!
